One of the world’s leading mobility providers, Schindler Elevator, wanted to unveil their revolutionary new high-rise elevator technology to a select group of North American building owners and architects. The company planned an elaborate stage presentation and display at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel to showcase this new product to their target clients.
As part of this event, Schindler needed a dramatic video to precede the official announcement. Their agency, Gibbs & Soell Public Relations, asked Manning to direct and stage the event and produce the introductory piece tying into the product’s tag line, “Now It’s Possible.”
Our goal was to build anticipation and excitement for the big product reveal without upstaging the actual announcement. We decided to use the video as an opportunity to reinforce Schindler’s brand as the world’s leading people movers (elevators, escalators, moving sidewalks, etc.) Inspired by the film Koyaanisqatsi, we edited time-lapse footage of people in movement to uptempo music. The frenetic pacing of the footage built to a crescendo ultimately revealing the title “Now It’s Possible.” As the video faded to black, a green laser light appeared in the auditorium drawing the eye to the unveiling of this new technology. The flawless transition between elements created the anticipation the client was hoping for.
